Data Scientist

What we’re looking for:

You are a fiercely creative data scientist who is passionate about understanding human behavior. You will lead the development of dynamical prediction algorithms for clinical health outcomes. You will collaborate closely with a powerhouse research team at Northwestern University, led by neuroimager and chronic pain expert Vania Apkarian. You will explore, iterate, and optimize models based on a rich and expanding proprietary real-world data set. You play an active role in defining the analytical paths we pursue. You will coordinate efforts between technical and data science teams based in Finland and Armenia, respectively. This is a rare

Your Responsibilities:

  • Model dynamics of human psychology.
  • Implement hierarchical model generalizing predictability of human psychology from the
    individual to the population.
  • Implement reinforcement learning algorithms to optimize management of human psychology.
  • Deliver AI/ML algorithms from conception to launch: Build end-to-end machine learning
    systems on large scale clinical data.
  • Research methods and architectures, read papers, implement and deploy new
    algorithms.
  • Work with latest AI/ML frameworks.
  • Communicate results and explain models to R&D and commercial teams.

Requirements:

  • Trained in Neuroscience and/or Computer Science & Statistics/Math, e.g. MS or PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Econometrics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and using machine learning models for forward and backward prediction of human behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and monitor performance of novel algorithms, including version control.
  • Diverse data science stack experience, including data engineering, statistics-based feature selection, and feature engineering of real-world data.

Lead Mobile Developer

We’re currently looking for a person responsible for developing the next version of our pain management app on React Native. You would be working together with our design lead to create and fine tune the mobile UX with attention to details, transitions and micro-interactions.

In addition to solid development skills, this role requires specialization in mobile front-end development.

Required experience from previous projects:

Medical Doctor for Telehealth Clinic, Illinois

Aivo Health, Inc. is a digital health company helping people to manage with chronic primary pain. We empower people with a virtual pain clinic accessed over a mobile app. We deliver care safely and sustainably applying innovations in pain neuroscience, behavioral health, data science and digital tools. Combined with your clinical expertise we change the paradigm for the treatment of chronic pain from the treatment of symptoms to continuous precision care addressing the root cause of primary chronic pain – the maladapted circuits in the brain. 

The Aivo Program™ is a unique multimodal program for people with low back pain. The program consists of a virtual clinic with a pain physician, a personal health coach and the support of a moderated peer group. The program also includes educational mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy consumed as short animations, audio recordings and other educational content delivered over a mobile app. The mobile application provides a continuous feedback loop enabling personalized precision care and a means to capture real life data for clinical research. The target population for the program are adults with chronic primary pain originating in the lower back area, who do not display severe comorbidities e.g. diabetes, heart disease, severe depression or severe anxiety and who can manage without opioid medication.

What we’re looking for:

Aivo Health is now launching the service in Illinois.  An important component of the program is to rule out other disease mechanisms ending up with chronic primary pain and the management of pain medication by the MD. All services are delivered as a telehealth package. The MD may establish a patient-provider relationship, may consult the primary care provider, make diagnosis, prescribe medication, and may direct Aivo Health’s health coach concerning user-specific coaching. The MD’s practise is responsible for clinical liabilities, reporting and compliance. 

Aivo Health provides marketing of the program, prescreens prospective patients, collects personal health information for scientific clinical research, provides non-clinical customer support for the whole program. Aivo Health bills for all services rendered.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor licensed for clinical practise by the Illinois Medical Licensing Board 
  • Desirable to be board-certified e.g. in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Occupational Medicine or Psychiatry
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience
  • Can start with us immediately with a few hours per week
  • Have existing private practise or willing to establish one

Head of UX

You are an excellent communicator who understands the symbiotic relationships between engineering, design and marketing.
